Our Press Release

Press Release for Village of Brown Deer and North Shore Rotary Club Announce Partnership for New North Shore Rotary Park

BROWN DEER, WI – July 24, 2025 – The Village of Brown Deer and the North Shore Rotary
Club are excited to announce their collaborative efforts in the development of the new North Shore Rotary Park. This innovative park space aims to provide diverse recreational opportunities for the community while integrating sustainable environmental practices.
The proposed North Shore Rotary Park is envisioned to include pickleball courts, sand volleyball, a bocce court, benches, and tables. In addition, the park will feature thoughtfully
designed landscaping with native plantings, bioswales, green space, and other stormwater management strategies, aligning with the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD)
goals and initiatives. The park is also open to other recreational amenities such as play equipment, spaces for future public art installations, and a revenue-generating open shelter available for public rental. The design will prioritize the use of existing vegetation, native grasses, and groundcover for minimal maintenance, and will include pedestrian access to the adjacent Culver’s restaurant.

Meet Matt Panelli — “The Guy Who Can”

At our latest Rotary gathering, we were honored to hear from the remarkable Matt Panelli, a man whose story redefines what's possible. Diagnosed with MS, Matt didn’t let that stop him, in fact, he set his sights on something most would never attempt: climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. And he did it!

Matt’s message was clear and powerful: with grit, heart, and determination, even the "impossible" becomes possible. His story is now being turned into a documentary that promises to inspire many more to reach for their own summits.

Thank you, Matt, for reminding us all that courage isn't about avoiding limitations. It's about rising above them.
