North Shore Rotary Newsletter / December 15, 2014

Cary Silverstein & Nyama Marsh

Your speaker this week will be Wendy Bauman, President and CEO of WWBIC and a past Assistant District Governor and past president of our club. WWBIC has recently moved their headquarters to the Schlitz office complex from their location on Old World Third Street..

Your speaker last week was Christy L. Brown, Executive Director of the Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast. Ms. Brown was a very dynamic speaker, who provided extensive information in the Girls Scouts' Mission (Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.) and what strategies and projects are used by GS of WI SE to achieve that mission. Of note, 1 in 5 girls in the GS of WI SE service area participate in Girl Scout events, making their "market share" the 4th highest of 112  Councils in the United States! Also, they have special urban Girl Scout units that utilize teacher-led troops to facilitate the participation of girls who may not otherwise be able to enjoy Scouting.

Future Speakers Needed

Please email or call Cary Silverstein with suggestions for future speakers for the 2015 Rotary Year. I am currently working with a number of potential speakers and I am awaiting confirming emails.
