North Shore Rotary Club Announces

 2026 Student Recipients of Annual Service Above Self Awards

The 2026 Milwaukee North Shore Rotary Club has concluded its annual Service Above Self program and has announced the student award winners for this year.  Continuing with the past success of this awards program, eight North Shore area high schools were each asked to nominate a student based on commitment to community, impeccable character and high academic achievement.  Each student was awarded a $50 honorarium from the Rotary Club.  Additionally, the Rotary Club offered each student $50 for a charitable cause of their choice.

“All of the local high schools have participated in Rotary’s Service Above Self program in the past and were enthusiastic about the opportunity to recognize their students again this year”, according to Jim Holtz, North Shore Rotary member and chair of the Service Above Self program.  “Recognition of the achievements of our local students has been an important part of the Rotary mission for nearly 25 years.  It reminds us that our community and country are in good hands”, Holtz said. 

The students who have received recognition and the awards are:

Montreal Cain (Brown Deer High School)

Elizabeth Garni (Dominican High School)

Lillian Dyer (Homestead High School)

Nah’Jai Simmons (Messmer High School)

Rom’an Caban (Nicolet High School)

Asha Lindvall (Shorewood High School)

Mason McDonald (University School)

Jane Brown (Whitefish Bay High School)
